Pregnant and still carrying a dewy layer of sweat from the yoga class I had just taught, I stumbled into Craig McQueen Salon in hopes to have my hair blown-out for a date with my husband. In three years of business operation as neighbors, I had never stepped beyond the entryway into Craig McQueen. I know, I’m embarrassed. I’ll explain. Hot Yoga and beautiful strands don’t exactly go together; besides, I wasn’t in the need for a salon - I’d been getting my blonde locks brightened by a friend for years. On this particular day, self-pity was at its highest. I had finally come to terms with my dull blonde fuzzy hair and I was in dire need of a refresh. I glanced around the salon taking everything in.
Aveda products lined the walls, an assortment of teas and coffee were available for sipping, happy and unfamiliar faces (my favorite when being pampered) filled the chairs, and for the first time in a while I felt completely at peace. Halfway through the story I was telling the stylist (thanks for listening), I noticed an advertisement for VoMor Hair Extensions. 15 questions later, I had a hair swatch booklet in front of me and an appointment for extensions booked. If you’ve ever been pregnant, you understand the struggle with your beauty regiment. No bleach, no chemicals, no botox, - the list goes on and on - which leads me to VoMor. In a world of ‘No’s,’ VoMor was my yes.
Nearly a year and a half later, you can still find me frequenting Craig McQueen Salon. A creature of habit, I’m happy to see the same skilled stylists every 8 weeks, and even happier to see the changes and updates they’ve made to the salon. As a fellow business owner, I know how challenging it can be to justify and organize a renovation let alone an entire facelift. Lisa and her team have pulled it off. The new salon is top-notch, offering a welcoming lobby and suspended hair dryers - think I could have one installed in my bathroom?
I am currently wearing 20 inch VoMor Extensions: tape-in, reusable, and exclusive to Aveda salons. Every 6-8 weeks I book an appointment for the removal and reapplication of my VoMor Extensions where my stylist treats my hair with OlaPlex, brightens my color, and applies Aveda toner to maintain the icier tones I am happiest with. Reach out to Craig McQueen Salon to book a complimentary consult.
